The GPSMAP 62 series takes recreational navigation to a new level. The units feature a bright 2.6-inch 65k colorLCD display with a built-in basemap and a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix. All three models boast unparalleled reception with a quad helix antenna, are waterproof, have a worldwide basemap with shaded relief and support paperless geocaching.
In addition to the standard feature set on the GPSMAP 62, the 62st version adds a 3-axis compass, a barometric altimeter and a built-in microSD card slot for loading additional maps, plus it comes preloaded with detailed topographic maps with land elevation and contours. The 62st also offers wireless route, waypoint, and geocache sharing with other compatible units. Garmin Custom Maps and BirdsEye Satellite Imagery is supported. Garmin Custom Maps allows you to easily transform paper and electronic maps into free, downloadable maps for your compatible Garmin GPS. BirdsEye Satellite Imagery is a subscription based service that allows you to see aerial views of your destination.
